Avye trained as a puppeteer at the National Theatre and spent 2009-10 in War Horse. Since then, she has enjoyed a variety of puppet roles in theatre and film.
In theatre she has been lucky enough to work at the Royal Shakespeare Company (Venus and Adonis, The Boy in the Dress) The National Theatre (The Elephantom, Angels in America, The Light Princess) and with Kneehigh theatre (Brief Encounter, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings).
Film experience includes on set puppetry and movement reference for the Niffler and Pickett the Bowtruckle (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), and puppeteering Sandra Bullock in Gravity.
Highlights include performing in and devising the Four seasons at the Globe’s Sam Wanamaker Playhouse (for Gyre & Gimble, with whom she is an associate artist), helping to create the beautiful show Something Very Far Away with Mark Arends and Matthew Robins at the Unicorn Theatre, and working with Sarah Wright and the Little Angel on The Adventures of Curious Ganz.
